Places near Fortress Hill?

Can someone recommend me the best areas to look for housing in and around the Fortress Hill area please? I am only earning 12000 hkd a month so it would need to be somewhere fairly cheap.

With this so tight budget you may look at Chai Wan / Shau Kei Wan / Sai Wan Ho areas.
Suggest to find partner(s) to share the flat else you will expect the environment won't be too good even you use half of your salary (6k) for the rent.

OP - you need to bear in mind that it is quite normal to have to pay 3.5 months worth of rent upfront - 2 months worth of deposit, 1 month in advance and half a months rent as commission...not sure about private rooms tho.
