If you just want a serviced apartment close to Central with light and views then maybe the Gateway in TST will press the right buttons.

A little enthusiastic unless you can walk on water! 10 minutes at least, 15 for female! And if you're pretentious (or racist enough in some cases) to frequent the Steaming Turd then add in a swagger.

That's an odd quote. Why do you think women walk slower than men?

    Kate,

You have to get OFF THE INTERNET.

None of these websites are showing you what is really available. The only place you are going to find that out is in person, on foot (or car etc). You have to go there. To each of them. You should have figured out by now that you cannot judge anywhere without actually SEEING it! And most agents properties never make it to the websites - only the crap ones they cannot sell any other way!

Kate, Silverstrand in CWB , is a popular area @ around the mid 50's price point for a 2500ft2 home, including a 500ft2 private garden, all gated complexes with 24hr security. This is indicative of what to expect > T & T Properties Agency Co. T & T property have two offices, one in Sai Kung town and a branch in Clearwater Bay. Which is who we have used for many years and have had no problems with them.

Another complex worth considering that is in your price range would be Marina Cove, which most villas back onto their own private jetty, or have a water front view of Pak Sha Wan/Hebe Haven. It's also at the right end of the area if you wish to have a closer commute to Hang Hau MTR.

Villa's in Pik Sha Road Clearwater bay along the water front are quite nice also, but rents can get quite high here, especially larger homes that have a commanding view of the bay, but you might find something sub 60K pm. The agents will have a better idea as to what is available in the area for your allocated budget.

Websites that list the goings on in the Sai Kung community, which includes Clearwater Bay as it falls under the Sai Kung District, are listed here Sai Kung Magazine & Explore Sai Kung

I won't even bother with Jay Kays comment, as it really isn't conducive to being helpful to anybody and only designed to incite provocation.

As an extra bit of info as MI07 posted while I was...

Moving is right, most of the real estate agent websites are not kept up to date, or they low ball, you will find when you are face to face with an agent, that you will get a feel for what is really around. You need to see with your own eyes, to get a feel for the surroundings that a home is situated in, as the websites usually hide or omit eyesores from their photos. Or they wont show that the road to your house is on a 30 degree gradient lol which will suck majorly during the hotter months if you plan on walking to the bus stop..

Including the Gateway quote? And if personal experience doesn't assist then have no idea what does.

    Thanks The Brit.

I'm thinking it may be a miss anyway. Looking at the apartments, they're not much bigger than the one we have an offer on now, only a bit further away.
Yep - good idea to give it a miss. There are much better alternatives available to you, I wouldn't advise anyone to live out there and do a daily commute to Central unless they really really had to and it sounds like you don't really need to as your budget allows you to live in much better places.

Does everyone leave a sense of humour at immigration? This was just a joke based on me and the wife living exactly where SH mentioned and our relative speeds in getting into town.

Brit - she's seriously looking at Sai Kung for goodness sake. Which takes longer and is harder to get to Central than the GC! Stop imposing your views on everyone else. I'd have chosen Sai Kung if it was an easier journey to Central (or indeed the airport).
