Harbourview Horizon - anyone happy there?

After weeks of looking all over HK, Ive decided to sign with Harbourview in Hung Hom. Mainly because its in my budget for 2 beds, and its furnished which saves me more money..plus its near my work.

Ive had a look thru this forum and people seem to have lots of bad things to say..but rent increases and early pool closures aside, is anyone enjoying being there?

Also, do any of the residents ever socialise cause Im more than happy to make a few new friends!

I stayed there for 6 months when I first came to Hong Kong. There were no real issues with it. It was convenient for where my hubbie worked, there were lots of shops, bars and restaurants near by and it was pretty easy to get to hong kong island with the shuttle bus running every 15 minutes to TST and a 5 - 10 minute walk to the ferry terminal.

Not too sure about the socialising bit though because I was pregnant at the time, had horrible morning sickness so spent most of my time indoors throwing up!

We would have stayed there but needed somewhere bigger when the baby came.

Thanks Amy! Seems like from the radio silence, not many others have had good experiences - or just dont want to say! But fingers crossed it will be great. I liked the feel of the place and after 30 or so revolting flats, this stood out as decent!

I stayed at Harbourfront across the road. It was not bad, i don't regret it and had the best view of all my homes i have stayed in. It was by far the best value of all the serviced apartments i saw in HK but remember it's a big complex and therefore pretty sterile.

The facilities are good and clean. What were my problems was the shuttle service was always full in the mornings in peak times and and I just got sick of it and walked to the MTR. Not good in summer. There is actually a bus out the front of harbourview that goes to Central so might consider that one.

The pool closed down for 6 months too but it will open again soon in March I think.

All in all it was OK for my first 6 months in HK but now I have found a much cheaper place and a better location but no facilities.

Paid $17,200 a month on 11th floor in block E of Harbourfront, not View. In View you should get around $14-$15k for high level with view.
