i guys, need advise here. i just , move in to my new apartment yesterday. today after work when my wife reach home, some one from the loan company slip in some letter to my new rent apartment asking the owner to pay up pr they will take action. they did it twice (slip the letter to my apartment) between 2 hours.. so what i should do now? i rent it tru a property agent. pls help

You have the address of the owner. Give him the letter. Also advise the loan company that the owner does not live there anymore.

Contact the loan sharks. I had the same problem 15 years ago, after receiving several of those letters I contacted them and told them the person does not live there anymore.
They wanted me to fax them my ID card copy which I refused. I have not heard of them since.

I agree with the above posts. And if that does not work try calling the police and ask them to tell these people that the person does not live there anymore......

If it is a legit loan company, also take their names down and tell them you are contacting the HKMA.

Are you clear that it is the owner of the apartment that owes the money or could it be the previous tenant?

Thanks for all advices. Its under the owner name. I already call up the agent and told her what happend yesterday. Today evening the owner come over to my apartment and collect the letter. She say she will settle the problem. Hope nothing more will happend after this.
