    Am I missing something?

Seen a 1000 sq 2bed low rise in Wanchai - asking $17-$18k per month.

Its huge, fantastically decorated, master bedroom is enormous, bathroom so big it has a bidet, separate bath and shower enclosure.

Wondering why so cheap, for the more familiar the address is 181A-181G, Wan Chai Road. Something wrong with this area?

    If not I'm grabbing it

haha, i'm guessing I'm not the only person to spot the deal

Says lowrise, doesn't specify which floor - seems too good to be true!

    May be:

    4th floor
close to the bars AKA Lockhart Rd.
    No lift in the building.
    Very old building.

$18 per square foot in Wanchai is not that exceptional, specially if one of the factors that the chiggman mentioned come into play.

Thks Chigga, KIA for the feedback.

Deffo old - built in 1964, so definately an old building without a lift.

    Location wise, adjoining roads are:

    Hennessey Road
    Heard St
    Burrows St
    Wood Lane

A few minutes to Ruttonjee Hospital

Is this an ok area of Wanchai? Agree $18 isn't out of this world, but the finish, fittings and layout are very high spec.

To be honest lugging up 4 floors and having no facilities doesn't bother me too much. Its the area I'm more concerned about.

BTW - Google now informs me that 4 = 4th stage of life (death) in buddhist views.

Think about climbing 4 flights of stairs everyday. And it can get worse with grocery. And what will happen when you try to move in. Think of the stairs...All the stairs.

Good point, but am kind of thinking long term (as one must do due to the minimum length of lettings in HK!)

Santa Fe will deliver & unpack all furniture, so only real pain for me would be coming and going - during the week thats once to the office and once back - its tempting (the apt is that nice)

But on the brightside...you'll get a workout everyday. But in the summer heat...
