    Kids in Mid-Levels

Have two kids aged ten and nine. We'll be moving to HK in next few months. Have generous corporate budget for accommodation ( circa HKD100 PCM). would love to find an apartment in a block that is great for kids, e.g. With pool, other sports facilities etc in the Mid Levels area. Any tips? Thanks.

Its not ML but HappyValley, but you should consider Leighton Hill with that budget.
Happy Valley is fantastic for kids and it has excellent transport connections.

Thanks very much. Is it a pretty easy commute fom Happy Valley to Central?

Have you sorted out where your kids are going for school (hint: this is more important and difficult than finding a place to live).

    Belcher's

Belcher's has the best club house in Mid-levels: an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, bbq area, basketball court, kids playing area, a supermarket downstairs etc. 15min cab to central. it's on 89 Pokfulam Road

    The Belcher's isn't in the mid-levels!

Would you categorize Belcher's a part of Mid-Levels?

Happy Valley to Central : you can briskly walk it in 20 minutes if you wish. You can take the MTR in under 15 mins (walk to MTR and then 3 stops). You can also take Bus and Taxi and those will be variable depending on time of the day and traffic.

Yes, its trivial to commute to Central from Happy Valley. For most people, its easier than MidLevels.

Try that in summer and you'll be a dripping soggy mess by the time you arrive! 20 mins is a very fast walk from the north west corner of Happy Valley to the eastern extreme of Central.

From the mid-levels it really depends on where exactly you are living and working. If you are living adjacent to the Central Mid-levels escalator and working in IFC or Exchange Square or 100QRC, for example, then it's 10-15 minutes door-to-door on foot, without getting very hot & sweaty.

    forget where to live....

priority #1, #2, #3 is finding a school place for each of your kids.... cannot emphasise more the difficulty many(if not most people/families) have with this.
