Cheap holiday flats in Macau (either North or South island)?!

Want to sort out a trip with some friends to Macau for a fortnight and am thinking about renting-out a couple of those cheap, but surprisingly clean, holiday flats you get in places like Cheung Chau (dotted all along the beach looking out to Lamma and HK island).

Only ever done the hotel thing when i've been to Macau in the past, so wouldn't know where to look for holiday flats on either the North or South islands. Anyone know where we should start looking when we get off the ferry?

    Cheers.

There are no North or South Island.
There is Macau (a peninsula), Taipa (an island) and Coloane (an other island)
Now Taipa and Coloane have been "joined" by what they call the Cotai Strip where you've got Venetian, COD, Galaxy....

Now what is your budget and how many people?

There aren't that many places that offer what you would like - it is however quite common as I understand to "rent" a suite in a Casino and share it amongst X people --- they don't really care and it reduce the cost a lot.

Otherwise your best bet is Coloane: for example: Macau holiday apartment rental - Macau China spacious apartment set in landscaped gardens near beach

Some people actually live there.....wonder if they are bored all the time....

that said, a fortnight is indeed a bit long but you can easily spend 3/3.5 days in Macau without being bored at all.

Visit the historical part - about a day (san malo, leal senado, tap seac, ko si ta, red market, the fort, the lighthouse, the museum, Saint Paul's cathedral...)
    Climb to the tower,
Enjoy portuguese food (A lorcha, O Moun, Alfonso 3) and some good wine
Visit the 2/3 relevant temples (A Ma, Kun Iam..)
Hit 3 casinos (Wynn, old Lisboa and Venetian)
Enjoy one or 2 shows (Cirque du Soleil or House of Dancing Water)
Head to the Jokey Club or the Canidrome for betting.
Spend an evening at the Irish Pub in Taipa (quizzes nights)
A few parties at Playboy Club, DD2, Lotus Club, Cubix....
Head to Taipa (old library, church.....) for a few hours and have a meal at O Manel or Petisqueira, or try one of the famous Chu Pa Pao next door, super yummy with a Wai Ta Lai.
Head to Coloane for at least half a day - visit the village, have a few egg tarts at Lord Stow, take a dip at Cheoc Van Beach (pool), eat a little italian next to it, then walk all the way to Hac Sa, hit Fernando, relax on the beach, have a drink at Westin

And I am sure I forgot a few things.

Obviously living and working there is totally different to holidaying there.

    You forgot Chicken Alley
