Office cubicle/desk rental (or failing that, a cheap hotel)

    Dear forum members!

I need to work dedicatedly on something for a period of 5 week days and would take one week annual leave for this. However, I am unable to work at home for various reasons. Can anyone suggest where I can short term rent an office cubicle or a desk in a shared office environment as cheaply as possible? I would prefer the areas from Sheung Wan to Causeway Bay, and Tsim Sha Tsui to Mongkok.

If this is not possible at all, then I could also consider checking into a cheap hotel. However, the room must have a desk. Again any tourist friendly hotels in the aforementioned areas would be fine.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    - JC

Movingin07 was offering something like this at their offices a month or two ago - maybe PM her and ask?

Yes - we do this but we are in the commercial market so it might depend on your definition of "cheap". We could offer a desk in an open area for not too much, but if you want your own office, that adds considerably. We do include stuff like wifi, tea/coffee/water and ability to print/copy/fax (at cost) if that helps. Terms completely flexible.

Alternatively - have you considered just working in a coffee shop (with wifi) or a library?

Thank you for the replies! As noted, it's really for personal use, rather than commercial use, and it's only for a couple of days, so I don't know if you can help me. I'd be happy with just a desk and a chair in an open area and nothing else.

I don't want to work in a public area because it's uncomfortable, and it's annoying to have to pack up everything to go to the toilet and then lose my spot to someone else.

I quote from my previous message, "I don't want to work in a public area because it's uncomfortable, and it's annoying to have to pack up everything to go to the toilet and then lose my spot to someone else."
