Hi everyone
We're moving to Hong Kong in January with two children - 5 year old and a 3 month old baby. We're looking at 30-40K for rent hopefully a 3 bed. I'm not overly bothered about being on the Island. Probably going to look for something Kowloon side since husband is working in NT but I don't want to be in the middle of nowhere either. Also the schools we applied for are this side though. We weren't thinking about getting a car tho.
Just have some questions. The sites you see online like HK homes, Squarefoot, Expatflats etc are they worth going through to find something? Also how did you go about finding a serviced appartment before you came? We were thinking of getting something short term while we had a look around the areas.
Anyone have any idea of the Aria building at Kowloon peak? Is it far from transport? With these buildings how much extra does it cost to sign up to use gyms, swimming pool, playroom etc? Are there lots of hidden costs? Is it easy to meet people in your block?
Also how about places like Shatin, Ma On Shan, Tai Po. Looks like you can get a bigger place out there for less. What are these places like. Would I be quite isolated out there..I mean would it be easy to meet locals or not? Like I find some parts of London quite friendly and others really not at all so how is this with HK?
Cheers guys
