    Furniture rental

    Hello,

So we are moving into our apartment in October. Only problem is that I suspect our container will arrive at least two weeks after that.

We're keen to get into the apartment and out of the serviced place so I've heard that one can rent furniture on a part-time basis. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Renting for two weeks might not be possible as many of the rental places ask for 3 month contracts on the furniture rentals.

May be some other members might have some tips.

you are right! there is usually a minimum rental and the furniture is nothing flash. i suggest (and it will prob work out the same) find yourself an nice hotel for two weeks and enjoy the sights and sounds and smells of Hong Kong. eat out!! Try a few bars!!! If you have children fill your days in with them and know everything is getting taken care of back in the room. It's only two weeks

I found a place called Home Essentials (from another similiar thread, posted a few years ago). They do one month rentals for almost everything, including appliances like kettles and toasters.

Their prices seem reasonable so I'm going to go for that.

We need to get into our bigger apartment with the baby, otherwise we'll go nuts! Also, don't want the headache of double rent.
