LondonNick, I lived in Harbourfront Horizon for 6 months and found it good. Though it lacks a bit of 'soul' but you can't expect a place to have alot of it when there is over 600 rooms.

    1. yes you can hear people. next door not really but above yes. I could hear people above with high heels at the most inappropriate times but it wasn't so annoying for me to complain but if you have a noisy person above it could be alot worse.
    2. yes close at 7pm. annoying. I could only swim in the mornings. Great pool though. Yes 2 hours for lunch. It's not open till march or april too and closes in October.
    3. Busiest times you have mentioned. leaves every 15 mins. this was the most annoying as you would have to go out at 5 mins after it leaved to get the next time. i sometimes walked to the station and got the train and that is not good in summer. My biggest annoyance there as transport was not that good. You could walk out and get the bus though to central if you wanted to.
    4. I had a couple of minor problems but seemed to be fixed in time.

Though i had some annoyances there it was still worth the time and would not have changed. The view was magnificent and the pool, gym was great. In the Harbourview there was a doorman that was always courteous and very helpful but i found the office staff not so helpful but polite.

My biggest annoyance was the shuttle bus always full at peak times and the location was not convenient for me. I was able to find a cheaper place and more convenient but without the view or services that the Harbourview provided but happier as it's more central and lively.

If you are happy where you are then I wouldn't think of moving just to get the view. You will have everything else and more where you are than what you would get at the Harbourview in my opinion.

Thanks for that. We took another look at both places, and we've decided to stay where we are. There were too many "annoyances" which I don't think would be worth it, just for a view.

    Hi London_Nick,

We are moving to HK in a couple of days and saw that you have decided to chose the Pinnacle Apartments. We are looking around for service apartments and Pinncale has caught our eye Are they any issues you have came across since your stay? And would i be correct to say that the rental is inclusive of all bills with internet.

    Hi,

No issues to put me off, just the odd bit of general maintenace which is fixed immediately or next day.
Internet is included (all bills are actually) and is nice and quick, 10mb connection.

Very happy here, staff are very friendly, good central location, would highly recommend it

Are you going to be staying for long?

Happy to start, but hell starts soon.
If you complain about something, they will revenge on you in some way.
They do their way. Be careful.

Lived there for more than 6 months, no complaints. Saw some of the complaints on this thread and found some ridiculous: can't add extra channels, longer opening times swimming pool.... You could have known when signing the contract. Nobody forced you to sign. Staff rude? Impersonal maybe but I don't expect otherwise with this big complex. Most staff greets you whenever you meet. When things break, they fix it quickly. Usually same day. Seriously people, you get what you pay for. Harbourfront is by no means expensive in Hong Kong. Would you complain the same in your native country??

    TV Channels

Hello, just of out curiosity. Has anyone had an explanation why the TV system is what it is. And limited channels are available without being able to add more channels by yourself. If there was a good reason people can understand and stop this debate. I live now for more than 9 months in Harbourfront. Love it overall. I am lucky to be able to walk to work most of the year so dont bother about the long wait for the shuttle. Pool hours....oh well. I find the staff friendly enough. Always greetings every day. Only thing is really I wish to be more in control over my TV channels choices. Thats all.

I think they get a package and most of these channels are free or a basic cost service to the hotel. I know when I was there they did a change of the TV channels and they added a few and took a few. I was alot happier when they added Australian Network channel which is coincidently a free channel for HK broadband.

I had the same annoyances above but generally for a serviced apartment in HK it was the best value around, you couldn't beat it. Unfortunately to get 'value' you generally have to have the cookie cutter service.
