Hk apartments are not fully furnished when it comes to rentals. You'll get your white goods and maybe a bed or sofa if you're lucky but generally tenant buys the furniture.

Also, consider the extra cost of renting a furnished vs unfurnished apartment. An extra $1K or so per month (or more?) can add up over a normal rental contract period of 2 years.

Better perhaps to buy your own simple furniture and sell it on for whatever you can get when you move out.
