Short term (3 months) accomodation

Hi all!

I am new at HK and I will be here until August working at University of Science and Technology.

I am looking for accomodation for the period May-August not far from University, but it is quite difficult to find something affordable and not tiny.

Any suggestions?

I was looking for something near University, i.e., Tseung Kwan O or North point.
I have tried to contact some real state agency but they do not work with short term.

try looking at this site and other expat asia classified for short term rental, for kwun tong or choi hung area, should be cheaper and should be around 20mins to get to university of ST

Short term rentals are unusual. Have you tried contacting the university? They may have some advice. Generally, if you want not tiny and not expensive, you are looking at a long commute. That's just how HK is. Alternatively, try looking at airbnb.com - they are more like holiday rentals but you might be lucky. Or a flat-share or a break-lease.

You could put an ad in this and/or other classified sites for HK saying "wanted short term for these dates" --- you may get replies from tenants who will be away for the period and want to sublet.
Flat shares are very cheap.
Agents will almost to the man/woman not deal with that so I wouldn't waste time asking.
Out of box thot for what it's worth: call chambers of commerce (US, Canadian, French, et al) and ask the membership directors if they know members who want housesitters or want to rent a room for the summer.
