What is the exact nature of the problem you having getting a new contract for your helper? Where does your helper sleep on the boat?

It is not me specifically. It is everybody living on boat in the marina. Mine has a small bedroom (the biot is a 5 bedrooms).

    How is that relevant?

Unless mistaken and as I see it, the issue is that DB marina is not allowing FDH contract to be renewed - is that the issue Loga?

    Sounds weird tough.

It's relevant because the OP has given us no background information as to why contracts are being refused renewal, and nor have they mentioned that the problem lies with the marina.

It could well be ID being more strict on sleeping arrangements for helpers given the current publicity surrounding the poor treatment received by many helpers in this supposed modern country.

No one will know until Loga actually articulates where the problem lies.

I believe it is because the people living in the marinas are breaking the bylaws that apply to the marina.
The marinas have been built without the land premium taxes that apply to housing developments. therefore they are not places that you can legally live. I think most marinas have bylaws that limit your stay to 3 consecutive nights. In Sai Kung (Hong Kong Marina) they kicked out all the permanent residents, I believe.

I suspect that it is these rules that the labour/immi department are using to refuse to renew FDH contracts - same thing could happen if you try to move into a factory building which is also not a 'approved' residential address.

I heard the DB issue is more related to the live-in arrangements for helpers. The powers that be don't believe FDH employed by people living on boats in DB Marina live in. Or live "on" in this particular case. The suspicion is that their helpers live out, primarily in Nim Shue Wan. There's been a series of police raids on Nim Shue Wan targeting Illegal FDH. I've been told by people in DB that the difficulties in renewing FDH contracts in the marina relates to this.
