First time to Shek O and I love it
cured my homesick instantly!
wondering how much those little colorful houses cost
btw, there a sign by the beach saying no dogs allowed
but expats' dogs are still running around there.

Shek O is a pretty pricey, not to mention, a VERY cliquey community.
The cheapest place I have seen there was rented by a mate of mine, 350ft one bedroom bedsit with shared roof top, very close to the beach ( you could hear the ocean if you opened the windows ) and he paid $18,000hkd per month 6 years ago lol and that was considered cheap back then !
Wanna guess how much you would be paying now.....?

Never been to Shek O. Seen it when doing the Dragon Back hike. Looks nice down there...
Try the villages on Sai Sha Road; most of them have relatively easy access to the shoreline (though they're the rocky beach type not the white sands type).
