Searching accommodation near City University Kowloon Tong. 6 months, share/non-share.

    Hello.

Anyone who can tell me the prices etc. if I want to live near CityU ? I'm going there for studying and they say that on-campus accommodation is nearly impossible.

    Thanks in advance.

Why is it nearly impossible? (just out of interest)

The Students Residence Office says that the interest is to big, and they have too many application. As a visiting student I am last priority it seems.

Its almost impossible to find a bachelor accomodation in kowloon tong area..you can look for accomodation in prince edward n mongkok area..another issus is with the duration of the rental contracts..as time is shorter, u might be asked to pay a little more than the adverised rent..150 sqft room with toilet comes for 4500 to 5000hk$...

Its always better to ask your non local class mates or other exchange students if they wanna share a bigger home with you or have spare rooms in their accomodation

Well. I do not know my classmates yet.

But should it be possible to get a 1 bedroom appartment for 5000 HKD, and how far from Kowloon Tong should I live then?

There is urbancube or the like available.

    http://www.urbancube.com.hk/Services.html

Starts at 6k and maybe you can then search for something shared while you're here.

Its better to come to hk and do a search with locals assistance. YOu can temp stay at guesthouses near mongkok and hunt for room around prince edward n mong kok..for your budget its more likely to get a room around these areas!!
