You're not a very decisive person are you, HKboiii? With the details you've already gathered, I don't see why you think anyone here could give you any additional useful information. Going beyond the details you gave, it's your own personal decision about what factors would be more or less better for you on a daily basis. Everywhere in life has it's ups and downs, you just have to make a decision and get on with life!

The two places are 5 minutes walk away from each other so unless you're an invalid, it really makes no difference. Little bit more away from the hustle and bustle on Star st but in terms on convenience, it really makes no difference and you can use escalators if it bothers you to walk up the hill. In my opinion, it really comes down to finding a flat you like for the right price. Your budget seems a bit low for the two buildings on Star st as they have larger flats.

Oh, I do think there's plenty more info that someone who actually lives there could provide; and if it's only to confirm or correct the positives/negatives I identified.

Yes, someone could say they live in x-buildling and they love it. You could move in, and discover that they love it for reasons that you might hate it. You just need to go see the apartments and get a feel for them yourself. From the information you gave, you'll have to decide on your own personal preferences. Once you see inside apartments you'll have a whole new list of things to consider about what is better/worse. Just fine what fits you...

Star Street is a hipster kinda place. I guess if thats your crowd go for it. Both places are pretty convenient and great areas to live in HK.

Here's hoping Elegiaque never discovers Tripadvisor.com. She might go into meltdown!

The J Residence is overpriced. I used to go there to visit a friend who lives there. For your budget Zenith would be better as you can get 2 bedrooms for roughly your budget. It is not far from the MTR. J Residence is more than 30K a month.

There's a newly opened Burger King near Star Street. A rarity on HK island nowadays.

Oh and Beef and Liberty isn't bad either.
