Not a bad idea and cheap by taxi after a night out.

Also do not rely on just one agent. They will push apartments that do not match your criteria exactly in order to get their commission. In each of those 3 areas, there should be a congregation of agent offices. Cast several lines out to maximize your chances.

Really, I do wonder where this magical place is that you lived in London! Maybe I just found a magical place in HK!

OP: re Mid-levels, if you're willing to flat share, you could definitely afford something there. In fact, even on your own you might be able to, depending on the type of buildings you look at. Mid-level apartments are more likely to have built-in ovens. But it's amazing what you can do with a counter-top oven. Just think of it as a new challenge in your baking career. You can work on mini cakes and hone in on decoration technique.

there are crap places ( much worse than hk or macau) in parts of London, nice burnt out cars, smashed glass windows every where, violent drug pushers/gangs and yobbo rob people in the street , ie, parts of south and east london

at the end of the day, every places has advantage and disadvantages, depends if the advantages suits your needs

    Huh?

HK bad but good for money? Huh? I guess you mean, "for earning money" if you have a particularly good job?

It's actually an industrial unit being used as a residence.
