    Thanks!

What do you think about the car thing?
I could have one, but since I am not the flashy guy I would only want one if I need it I guess.
Parking seems to be an enourmous hassle in HK.
My impression was always that public transport is super and Taxis are cheap.

How do you go about finding a good property agent for that area?
I have only found the usual things in the internet: Centa, Gohome, Spacious, hongkonghomes etc...

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks a lot Rani!

The bus schedule is extremly confusing if you dont know your way around in HK.
We are slowly but surely getting along.

I will check out your recommendations right now!

Use local agents. Internet listings are not reliable, many of them are fake and old.

Within a 5 minute walk from a building you like, you will find an agent. Sometimes they are even in the ground floor of the building or across the street. They will not only know what's currently available but often what is coming on the market in the next few weeks.

We did that for a few places and then went back to the corporate agent and asked why we were able to find more apartments in our budget and neighborhood in 1 afternoon than they had in two weeks. This should motivate them. They would rather split commission than lose it entirely.

I'd also agree Belcher's is a good place to start. There are a few agents just across the street from the main entrance (right outside of the MTR exit).

    That's Exit C2, not C1.

And an FYI, Belcher's has its own website with information on the attached shopping centre, The Westwood.

    The Belcher's

What do you think about a car?

    Is it doable without one?
