A friend of mine told me to buy those adjustable poles from Japan Home. We have 2 bedrooms and the windows are quite big and couldnt find suitable poles. I am pregnant and I just hate seeing the sun nowadays. I usually get grumpy when I wake up and the sun is so bright.

I would speak to the landlord to install the drapes for you. If that doesn't work then you can always hire someone to install it for you. As another poster said, go to a curtain shop and they come and measure and then install, all included in the price. If you want to save some money you can get these made in Shenzhen. If you have it done on your own dime, you may face the possibility, however remote, that the landlord will ask you to take down and fill in screw holes when your rental contract is over.

Curtains with black out liners are heavy and those rods will not do it, especially when u open and close daily. Go get a screwed-in solution instead.

Many thanks. I have sent our landlord a message and still waiting for his response. You've been a great help.

Your bedrooms have curtains I take it? Ask the landlord if he will help (I doubt it now the lease is signed, but you never know). Failing that just go and get them made at a shop. I wouldnt bother with the DIY variety from Ikea or Japan Home Centre.

A few cans of black spray paint will be easy fix

If all else fails just get curtians installed and when you leave either expect the LL to screw you for taking them down or he will say nothing as you added it for him.

Are you sure you're pregnant? You might be a vampire. Any bite marks on your neck?
