my family have a serious problem tenants who rented out our 2nd flat. The family of four, a 70 year old HK man, with his 40 year old mainland wife and 2 grown up children in their 20s live there. They have flood damaged the flat flooring flooding the downstairs flat. There's ~30K damage but they deny responsibility, accusing us of poor plumbing. The flat had been rented out before several times without a problem. When their deposit of 2 months was mentioned, the tenants said they won't pay for the final 2 months and even threatened to damage the flat more. 2 months has passed without paying rent and they won't answer their phones or answer the door, even though they were clearly in with lights going off with a sudden silence. what would yourselves suggest? Informing the management of the estate that the tenants must be informed to contact us, the landlords?
