    Apartment Rental Websites

Can you recommend any websites and Facebook groups when searching for flat rentals? There's so much supply and it's hard to whittle out the better ones.

If you find any honest websites with real pricing, up to date and not bait and switch then please post here as we would all like to find one.

Don't rely on websites here. That's just not how this market works.

The Sotheby's site is very good. Only for expensive apartments though.

The implication being that you have to hit the ground and go to physical agents in your area of interest, right?

Yes. You can get lucky - the smaller sites like Geoexpat where people are advertising their own place are better, but then you only get to see less than 1% of what is actually available..... [yes, I made up that statistic, but you get the drift]. Most of the agencies who really have places to rent do not update the websites, they just "show you something similar" when you turn up in person......

hongkonghomes.com has pretty pictures, although the prices seem high.

I found my flat through 28Hse website, agents were not getting what I wanted and just showed what they had within my budget in the area. Some good flats were posted on here too.

I think 28Hse is pretty good these days, with website as well as iphone and android apps, chinese and english interface and it does appear to have a lot of listings that are up to date. I know traditionally in Hong Kong the only effective way has been walking into a real estate agent, but I do think this is changing a bit now and new apps etc that are out there are improving.
