    Question Suggested Accommodation Options

For our upcoming move I want to consider areas to live in HK Island.

While during our past stint in Hong Kong we loved staying in Midlevels, this time around with a bigger family, we intend to explore more options outside our explored territory (which would be Midlevels, Belchers (Pok Fu Lam)).
Now and back then I love the convenience of staying at Midlevels but with our current requirements I want to consider other option than paying the premium rental (50K+ per month) for building fulfilling our needs.

We would be going down the proper agent assisted house hunt mode once we are in Hong Kong in April but would want to know any good leads for areas / building fulfilling below:

My husband would work at Central, I would be working at Quarry Bay/Taikoo.

My toddler is expecting results for ESF Hillside admission assessment and if that goes well, she would need to be dropped and picked up from Stubbs Road ESF Hillside for which I assume there is a kindergarten bus.

However, I would want look out for accommodation options in Hong Kong Island which are:
    a) 20 to 25 mins max commute from Central, Quarry Bay and Stubbs Road (ESF Hillside).
    b) has good mix of expat population for toddler play dates (which my helper would oversea hence being around similar community would be preferred)
    c) Rental wise intend to stay sub 45K per month.
    d) helper room
    e) balcony (good to have)

Request recommendations on buildings/ areas which might cover the above needs?

    Thank You

That max commute time puts a very tight limit on areas and I would suggest relaxing it. For example, if you were in Quarry Bay, a door to door commute to Central would probably be at least 35 minutes.

If you really need to stick to 20-25 then you're talking somewhere in between Central and Quarry Bay. Happy Valley or Tai Heng perhaps. Anywhere else closer to the MTR lines will be very crowded- perhaps you're okay with that. Or Kennedy Road above Wanchai.

Grand promenade - Sai wan ho

    The arch - Kowloon station

If you can push the budget a bit more then Cullinan at Kowloon station is very nice

    Tai hang or Happy valley
    Stanley

Thanks Rani ...Ap Lei Chau to Central seems doable but the maps show long travel to Quarry Bay.. any suggested routes for the commute?

@MandM! - Thanks for suggesting Grand Promenade, really looks interesting and would check it out when we get to HK.

The arch, KWL i assume would be over budget for my requirements though would check online the range.

Any buildings in particular in Happy valley or Tai Hang? i note these places are quite in middle of our commutes but assume would need to take a cab or bus to central /QB...

Stanley would love to consider but seems to make more sense with a car.

Was thinking you could hop on the MTR. The train to Admiralty is 10 mins where you'll need to switch trains to Quarry Bay.

Just want to add... do not plan to change trains at Admiralty if you can help it especially to the red or blue lines.

If you need to travel during rush hour, it will add an extra 10-20 mins to your commute at least.

If you need to travel during rush hour, it will add an extra 10-20 mins "and an assault charge" to your commute at least.
    Fixed it for you :-)
