    Thanks all. I guess time to look out of HK Island. Ideally wanted to spend no more than HK$35k, but may have to look at HK$40k.

    Where we live now has lots of space and the rent it seems based on the posts here is pretty good value, but probably won't work for us going forward.

    Possible in DB, although the commute will add more. Even in Olympic I think you'd be looking at circa 40k.

    Off HK island - TKO - lots of options for much cheaper than 35k.

    Lohas Park. You may even get TKO proper if you're lucky.

    Get in now, new tunnel should be done by 2021, new road from Lohas Park side across the estuary not long after.

    Central for me is fine, but the better half works all over HK and is based out close to Kwai Fong.

    I guess we will have to either move a bit further out than anticipated or increase our budget a bit for a desired location.
