Pinnacle, 8 Minden Ave

Hi, I'm considering moving to the Pinnacle for 6 months and have a few questions. Any opinions/answers will be appreciated:

(1) Is the area safe? It's behind Hyatt Regency, but also close to Chung King Mansions. There is a row of bars/restaurants along Minden Row. Have you heard of any safety or noise problems at night?

(2) Are the apartments clean? An earlier thread mentioned roaches and mites.

(3) How's the service?

I used to work at The Minden hotel which is right in front of The Pinnacle. Im not too wary of the standards within The Pinnacle but it does look proper and pretty good. The area is safe even though Chinese people are dominated by people from South Asia in that area. Again about roaches...I really couldnt tell u, but at The Minden hotel there were roaches and bugs all the time but The Pinnacle looks good to me so I wouldnt worry too much about it.

watch out for lower floor , because there are a lot
bars and clubs downstars, (minden avenue) , in the weekend the noise starts at 23:00 till 6:00 in the morning , if you like disco beats , its a nice place to live !

I've been staying at the Pinnacle for 1 1/2 years now and never a problem - not a single roach in sight. You might have trouble with the noise from the bars downstairs if you're staying on the lower floors facing Minden Avenue. And I've never found all the men with their vans lining the street to be a problem. However, I opted to get an apartment on the far side of the waste collection facility - can smell ripe, especially in the summer !
