    Question South Bay

    Hi all,

I wondered if anyone could share their experiences of living in South Bay, especially with respect to having to rely on the shuttle buses to Repulse Bay for cafes/shops and into Central for work.

My wife is expecting our first baby this year, so any views on how it would be for a young family would be really welcome...

I've always found South Bay to be the most isolated part of the Island South. Nothing there, except perhaps clubhouse facilities if your building has them. Nobody that I know who has lived there has chosen to stay beyond the initial lease period. Its not very stroller or dog friendly for outdoor walks - there are limited places to go on narrow sidewalks. The shuttle that you have to take to Repulse Bay adds bit of time and a little hastle to your commute. There are similarly priced places in Repulse Bay, Stanley and Tai Tam that are just closer to stuff. That being said, the whole area is nice and quiet, and has a good beach closeby that is less crowded than most of the others in the summer.

    HT,
Thanks very much for your thoughts. We will go back down there and wander around. We have already checked out Stanley quite a bit, but have not yet looked at Tai Taim, so thanks for the tip.
