    Arrow Harbour Place, Hung Hom

I'm planning to move into the Harbour Place complex in Hung Hom in september, does anyone have any experience with the place? and does anyone know any good agents?

    Thankx!

Harbour Place doesn't seem to be all that bad -- just a bit out of the way. The complex is decent, if dark, and the rental prices are cheaper than the nearby Royal Peninsula, Whampoa Gardens, and Laguna Verde. (Generally I'd put the quality on par with that of Laguna Verde, if not a bit less gaudy.) If you don't mind the walk to/from the train station/ferry/bus stand/restaurants, it's a nice place to live.

That said, any of the agents in the Whampoa area should be able to assist you. Some I've dealt with who've been decent:
Yu Yee: 29 Tak Man St (23305086) (It's actually down a side alley off of Tak Man St)
Peninsula: 36 Tak Man St (27657051)
Chun Yip: 31B Tak Man St (29541182)

All of the above have agents who speak Cantonese, English, and/or Mandarin. IIRC Peninsula and Yu Yee have agents who also speak Japanese. If you do go with Yu Yee, ask for Cindy Peng (Peng Xin) -- she's thus far found us two places that we've taken and many more that we've adored. (She's also never tried to force us into seeing something that wasn't what we were looking for.)

You can PM me if you wish - I live there.
Decent place - nice facilities. Very convenient for bus / trains / minibus.
Needs a decent pub nearby imho.

Load Toad: The one on the pier isn't that bad, as those things go. TST is close either way.

    Thanx both!

I am looking to get the best price in this place, do you think it is wise to use an agent to press prices or to do so yourself? And do you know the best aprox renting prices in this place?

It all depends on the block, the floor, and the view. I've heard of 2BRs going 8-9K.

Unless you're renting directly from the landlord, then use the agent to press prices.

i don't live there, but my gf's family has recently moved in there, would like to know as the standard walkway via ( past the royal peninsula and poly u halls ) is pretty long about 15 mins as well it's not the most direct route according to the map, how ever i have notice via maps, if you live in block 1, 2 or 3 on oi king st, would going throu exit c2 to metropolis, then under the over head road, pass the bridge and on to oi king st be a quicker route? any one has tried this yet?

Yes - makes not much difference but to be honest a 10 - 15 minute walk hasn't ever been a great hardship to me. Except the time i got gout.

Digging up an old thread....but I'm looking to move out of my serviced shoebox in TST into somewhere nearby. I work in Shatin so Hung Hom is ideal....although a little out of the way...but I don't mind walking.

Harbour Place looks nice, and the prices look ok. My only concern is the big patch of derelict land in front of it. Is there planning permission to build on there? I'd hate to move in and then have it suddenly spring to life as a high-rise construction site for my entire stay here!

What time do the ferries to Central run til?

    Thanks.

funnily enough I went there yesterday but found them painfully small. looked at 3 bed. double room would fit a queen bed and nothing else. the two singles would maybe fit a kid's bed in each. no idea where to store clothes and other things. painfully small. not surprising as originally built as public housing. quite liked location but this complex seemed a bit starved of light.

for agent, we went to centaline nearby whampao. guy named tom. was very helpful and not at all pushy. think he was genuinely embarrassed to show us two hovels in whampao garden going for 18k.
