    One Silversea

Does anybody live in One Silversea? Have recently arrived and am thinking of splashing out on an apt there, the pool looks amazing. Friends are very down on living in Kowloon, but I like that it's an MTR rather than a bus commute to Central.

Any thoughts on ease/cost of getting taxis back there from HK island in the early hours?

When do they close the pool for the winter? I like cold swimming but understand that building management don't tend to cater for weirdos ;-)

We lived there last year, the Taxi from LKF at early hours range between 70-100 depends if the taxi charge you both way for the tunnel, West Kowloon tunnel is the cloest to get to one silversea
They do close the pool for winter i guess around either oct-nov i can't remember, but the indoor pool is open ( very short and very hot in there) Plus in winter the put a fountain in the swimming pool ( we used to hate that ) When we were living there what really annoyed us was the building construction, We got roof leaking during typhoon and a level sink in the bathroom so every time you use it the water dont drain properly also the jacuzzi was broken as we dont use it enough?! oh yeah and the wall shipped very easily husband walked in to the corner once and shipped a bit off the corner.

Also the handy man there is very interesting, when the ceiling leak in the bedroom the sino group come to fix it what they do is put a 'special drainage' on a 45' angle to where the ceiling suppose to be leaking. and that drainage will take the water directly into the nearby apartment in the next building. and we thinking oh...its their problem now.....!

That's a shame, but exactly why these forums are good. Where are you now?

No no no is not that i wont recommend it, I wont recommend buying it, but renting , its great~ great location great swimming pool. The staff that we like wont be there now as they all moved out the same time we did. So i'm not sure about the new management. We are currently at The Arch. This is our second (renting) apartment in HK and we find the construction are a bit better so far we haven't had anything major just a few light bulb and wires broken here and there.
but living on top of the shopping mall is not the same as one silversea, you dont get that little bit of short walk along the harbour and the feeling of coming home.. Here i just walk pass starbucks and turn left! We're thinking of moving back to tai kok tsui again to either one silversea or Long beach. What you need to do if you want to rent one silversea is find the owner/landlord that is quite keen to fix everything for you and be strict to the sino group that's what our old landlord were like if something wrong all we need to do is call him and he will make an "angry call' to sino group and got everything fix in a very short time. and the view is amazing... get the one that face the harbour... and you'll spend more time on the balcony than anything
