    It is pretty much impossible to find flats to rent online in HK. You need to go an visit and agent. There is one called GOHOME (I think) which is ok for reviewing areas, but hopeless for actually finding a real flat (most of them are not really available).

    that's just how it is. possibly because so much renting is done by individuals in agencies who have little incentive to update the online database!

    That is it mostly.

    From experience, I can tell you that online-listed rentals, asking prices, etc. are not regularly updated by the agents. When you call in to inquire about the property, the actual asking rent may be higher so it is better to check directly with the agents or on sites like this and asiaxpat.
