    Alright so that's settled.

I re-read shilo's post again and I am puzzled about following part:

I have to say that as a frequent business visitor to HK over the years I am a little concerned about the negative image towards Filipinas in HK.
Do Filipinas have a negative image in HK? I have never witnessed a negative reaction in Hong Kong towards me just because I'm a Filipina. It's true that some job niches are dominated by Filipinos like domestic helpers, live bands etc. But what's so bad about that?

The reason I said it is because I have lost count of the number of times HK Chinese business people have expressed surprise that I am married to a Filipina.: the inference being that HK Chinese view Filipinas as housemaids - not wives.

The difference in the UK is that although we have many Filipinas they are not there as maids. Most are married to Brits or working as nurses.

Just a personal observation - I find too many HK Chinese (make and female) very difficult to socialise with. The Filipinas in HK on the whole are very friendly, always smiling and willing to chat. HK would be a much poorer place without them. More power to them. May God bless the Pinay!

A HK taxi driver once said to me on learning I had a Filipina wife, "we don't like Filipinas". Nice.

Taxi drivers, a special breed whatever their nationality.
