    too cozy for comfort

hey! I'm getting ready for my big move and should be in HK by next week scouting for an apartment. I've been browsing some sites for possible flats to move into and i chanced upon one posting for "cozy" rooms with floor area of 46sq feet. Then there was one with an area of 16 sq feet and one with a record-breaking 11 sq feet. Is this even possible?????? I knew HK had a space problem and I was prepared to live in a shoebox but 11 sq feet?????? How true is this??

in sham shui po and other old, poor areas there are actually flats that have cages in them... the cages are 6 feet long and 3 feet wide and 3 feet tall...these are meant for PEOPLE NOT animals!

i'm sure that your budget will pay for more than this!

it's amazing when people live like that in HK, that some on this site complain that their housing allowance is ONLY $60,000/month!

11 square feet is insane. that's less than 4 feet by 4 feet. whoa. even a midget wouldn't fit.

hmm. there are hotels in japan that are almost like mortuaries or the cages in sham shui po, where each "room" is double-decked on to another with one bed space.

hehe...2 x 5.5 feet? I guess it would work if you were skinny and short and just slept on the floor...most places, people would call that a closet...

Those are probably bunk beds in very cramped rooms with shared facilities - yuk!
