utilities will include stuff such as cable t.v and broadband, all very much needed!Originally Posted by limes79:
I like to have it cool in summer and warm in winter. Mostly we take a hot shower and in order to keep the food cost down we cook at home. Therefore electricity, gas, water are needed. In the NT the fixed telephone line is more expensive. Broadband doesn't come cheap.
So, 2,000 is a generous estimation.
Hi, where will you stay in Tsuen Wan?
The office located there.Originally Posted by kasumen:

But the pay really can justified the expenses.
haiz... i rejected the offer already.
Er, I don't think so - PCCW's prices are fixed territory-wide. They are not allowed to discriminate by location.Originally Posted by Expatriate:

not really so far am surviving with no cable and no broadband or fixed line phoneOriginally Posted by jimbo:
Agreed - if money became tight I'd easily do without the fixed line; I don't have cable anyway. But no broadband would be a real struggle!
If I may ask, how much do they pay you?Originally Posted by irena_qiqi:
Do they don't pay you enough to cover basic expenses or they don't pay you high enough as an expat?
sorry to jump in, but I think if you are an expat. the pay is usually enough to cover the expenses especially if you live in Tsuen Wan. Personally I think TW is cheaper than HKI (Hong Kong Island). I am at Tuen Mun area (HK Gold Coast) as well and the ave. expenses:Originally Posted by kasumen:
transportation : HK$1000
broadban + cable tv : HK$350
utilities : HK$1200(electricity, gas, water)
food: around HK$2500 - HK$3000
