    moving dillemma in Hong Kong

I am planning to move from NYC soon. My stuff is not that much (mostly, books and clothes, about 15-20 boxes) so I am thinking about arranging shipment through postal services without using moving companies. However, the problem is I do not know where I am going to be 4-6 weeks later by the time my stuff would arrive Hong Kong since I can not confirm a short and long term housing just yet.

I always get great advice from this forum. Could anyone shed any light on this issue? Is there any storage place that would receive my stuff and store them? Thanks a lot in your replies in advance.

Why not use a company that specialises in this sort of small shipment (such as http://www.sevenseasworldwide.com )? They will contact you when the shipment arrives in HK and you can arrange the local delivery details then.

    Cargo

Call your airlines Cargo division. We bought our few boxes with us via cargo - wy cheaper and easier than a moving company - just a few things you can't send ie: food and flamables. We used our company address and thought we would need to go to the airport a couple of days after we arrived to get it but somehow it got delivered to work which was great. As a security precaution your stuff needs to be held by the airline for a few days before you/it travels and doesn't necessarily go on your flight.

Thanks for your replies, guys. Larac, I just checked with cargo services of the airline that I am going to use and it turns out to be a cheaper and faster service than any other options I looked into for my small items. PDLM, Thanks for your suggestion. The service takes a little bit longer than I'd hope but I found out it would be great if I have to carry a little bit more stuff next time. You guys really saved my day. Thanks!
