Your visa status is none of the shipping company's business and there is no reason for them to ask. You pay them - they ship the goods. Whether you are able to live in Hong Kong to use them is your business alone.
yeah...but what about HK immigration...?
Immigration might stop you coming in (if you don't have a visa or the right to visa-free entry) but they only check people, not cargo.
For your personal entry, what passport do you hold?

Yes, you've heard wrong - there are no restrictions on your shipping your possessions to Hong Kong.
But you aren't allowed legally to move to Hong Kong until a visa has been granted.
PDLM is rite shipping company will bring & keep the goods in the Shipping yard or there Warehouse your goods have no concern with the immigration only with the customs clearing department
& As PDLM mentioned if you are not allowed to move then you might end up paying EXTRA charges to the Shipping Company to store your goods
Better be safe than sorry
You can move your stuff even without a valid working visa.
But you are not permitted to search for work while on a visitors visa. And therefore are not permitted to change your visitors visa to a working visa.
However, this being Hong Kong, there is always a way, if you explain it properly to the Immigration guys. Good Luck.
Hope you speak Chinese. Most of the jobs require Chinese nowadays.
