Exclamation Miami vs. HK cost of living index

My husband has been offered to transfer to HK. He works for a major French cosmetic brand and will be head of his dept. He will be offered an expat package (rent, tuition, health, trips home). Now we just need to know how much salary he needs to negotiate.

Does anyone by any chance know the cost of living index in HK compared to Miami, Florida?

After doing some research, I believe this is how you calculate your salary requirements:
    1. Current net household income (I might not work therefore we have to add my salary, correct?) is calculated towards HK cost of living (with an index I am desperately trying to find!).
    2. You add the difference to your current salary (i.e. 50% increase).
    3. Add desired promotion raise.
    4. Add American taxes to the net.

Is this right? I would highly appreciate if any one could enlighten me!

    Many thanks in advance

Miami vs. Hong Kong Cost of Living

My brother lived in Hong Kong for 30 years and in Miami for another
35 years so he would be able to give you all the information you require which is too detailed to list here.

    Hey Miami,

I live in Florida too (Pembroke Pines). I have relatives in HK and have been back there for consecutive summers. Maybe I can help with your questions, though I'm not really good with employment ones, though I kind of wish I did because that means I would potentially have a job in HK.
