Hey! There's a website named openrice that offers information about the restaurants and food in Hong Kong. You will find it useful. Good luck!

You've gotta be kidding, right. I just booked this flight. Now I need to find a way to upgrade.

But if you like good food at all, bring some on the plane with you. I have never had such horrible airline food as I did on that United flight!

I've been able to find the answer to pretty much any question I have using this site, this will be very handy as I embark on my new adventure in Hong Kong!

By actually SEARCHING through this forum I was able to re-negotiate my initial offer and get a new package that I feel very comfortable with...

My visa came in the mail today and my flight over will be next week, I'm finding it very hard to keep focused on anything besides Hong Kong and the excitement I have! I figured I would be a little worried, having never been there and only having the ability to speak English (for the time being), but I don't really have any concerns at all. Thinking about the possibilities of traveling all over, and living in a great city, and meeting yall folks really makes a person feel at ease.

My only problem is.... how does a person keep themselves occupied on a 14+ hour flight from Chicago to Hong Kong I'm going to bring a lot of books, I'll have my laptop but United doesn't have electrical outlets (at least not in coach ) If you have some suggestions please feel free to share, also any advice on jet lag is much appreciated.

Ha ha... I guess things could be worse..

For those who are interested in meeting new people...

-I'm a 25 year old American male (Age,Gender,Race,Nationality doesn't matter to me... but we're not all the same, so i figured I would include it)

-I'll be at 112 apartments for the first month (really having a hard time deciding what type of area i want to live in after the serviced apartment... Green area or in the city?!?! I'll just visit a bunch of areas when i'm there)

-Will be working in Causeway Bay
-Love outdoors activities - frisbee, basketball, hiking
-I've never been know to turn down a good happy hour
-Looking to make new friends from all walks of life
    -Nikon D90 - CHECK... I really like photography [I am a n00b]

If you have an regular scheduled happy hours or dinners please feel free to send me a message. Keep in mind, i'm 25 and my job is in Marketing Research not Banking... the cheaper the beer the better

    Cheers to all

    GoBoSox...

I just did the United flight as well... I don't really have a suggestion for what to do... just know that when you land you'll feel a lot better!

If you're a tall person, at least try to get an aisle seat.

Just remember a few years ago when they didn't have screens. Read a book, listen to music, talk to your neighbor, write your memoirs......
