Hello. I will soon be moving to Hong Kong with my husband and 9 year old daughter. Where should i look for housing? It seems the south island is the "bubble " for expats and it'l schools but i was thinking of Kowloon Tong. Any thoughts? My husband travels all the time so it is important to feel safe, to get around easily and to have him rather near the airport. Thank you ALL for your tips and advice.

If you're thinking of Kowloon Tong for school, you might consider Sai Kung or Clearwater Bay, which are some nice places to live in, and it'll be much closer to the airport than from the south of the island. People who want to be closest to the airport tend to live in Discovery Bay, but I don't know what schooling there is like. At the FIS (French International School) I know kids who live in DB catch the ferry together and then have a schoolbus waiting for them that takes them to school. I'm not sure whether other schools have the same bus-at-the-ferry thing going on, but they probably do.
