    Location, location, location

We will be moving to HK at the end of June. My husbands office is in Kowloon.
We have two kids (6&4) and were thinking about Repulse Bay. Will that be too far for my husband to commute? My husband will be travelling a lot so access to the airport will also be a consideration.
    Any other suggestions???

Why did Repulse bay strike you as the ideal location?

And where abouts will your husband be in Kowloon?

Repulse Bay seemed like a nice family area, with good schools near by.
Hubby's office is close to Shangrila Hotel in Kowloon.

Heard Discovery Bay is also nice, but not as many school choices.

I know people who work for the Shangri La but who live in Stanley, so Repulse Bay musn't be too complicated a commute. Plus if you live somewhere with a shuttle bus to Central or Admiralty, it's hardly a 20 minute ride into town+ 10 minutes subway ride to Kowloon.

What makes Stanley and Repulse so nice is that theyare not convenient to anything. Going to have your own car?

    That's ridiculous!
It only takes us 20 minutes into Causeway Bay or Wanchai by bus or minibus ... you absolutely don't need a car...
Plus, the air down here is much nicer... the views are georgous, and it's really quiet!
It's so green, it's great when you've spent a day "in town" to come back to the quiet and greenery, it's all worth it. We've got the mountain+ the sea, all the yin and the yang!

It only takes you 20 minutes to leave your apartment, walk to the bus, catch the bus and arrive in Wan Chai? Or are you talking about the amount of time actually spent on the bus? Seems to me my trips to Repulse from Central take longer than that, but as it is the tail end of a long journey from the NT, I don't pay a lot of attention. Maybe I take the wrong bus??

Most appartments have shuttle buses, so you don't need to walk to the bus stop, mine doesn't but it's only a 5 minute walk to the bus stop. I know what time the bus comes, so I don't wait for it. It takes me half an hour max to get to Central, but to Wanchai or Admiralty it's only 20 minutes. And I'm further away than Repulse Bay, closer to Stanley. My partner rides a scooter, and it's even faster for him. Sometimes I drive, and it's about the same as the bus.

So 20 minutes give or take and then across to TST which probably sticks another 10-15 minutes on to the journey to the office.
By convenient, I meant convenient like Repulse is to the beach. To me Beacon Hill area might be closer to work.
Plus, every time I have visited people in Repulse I end up in a cab from the bus stop to the house. But I am not on a minibus, I am on the double deckers out of Central which let you off at the beach.
