I am going to be working at the Kowloon side near the Lai Chi Kok MTR station. A relocation company is going to help me find a permanent place to stay, but the first month I'm in HK, they will pay for a temporary place as I look around for a place to live. The relocation company is asking me in advance of ideas of areas I want to live and amenities I would like to have and I'd like to ask some advice on whether having certain amenities will increase the cost of the housing.
The place will just be for me so I will be looking for a one bedroom, and hopefully not spend more than $9K HKD per month.
Do you have recommendations for areas to live? I am looking for places convenient to public transport and grocery shopping.
Is it common for places to be furnished? Would they be more expensive? Do you think it's better to rent/buy my own furniture?
Is it common to have built in wardrobes or do people usually buy 5-chest drawers and wardrobes to hang clothes?
What do people usually do for exercise? Are there convenient gyms/sporting facilities, or apartment complexes with gyms/sporting facilities or are those usually a lot more expensive?
Thank you all in advance and I'm looking forward to the replies!
