sfoloa, okay then . Never had pancake mix (or cake mix for that matter) so I can't comment on the taste of your preferred mix over a home-made "mix". It doesn't sound that great though ...

Flour Enriched Bleached (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Iron Reduced, Thiamine Mononitrate (Vitamin B1), Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Folate), Sugar, Dextrose, Soybean(s) Oil Partially Hydrogenated and Cottonseed Oil Partially Hydrogenated, Leavening (Sodium Bicarbonate, Sodium Aluminum Phosphate, Monocalcium Phosphate), Soy Flour, Buttermilk, Salt, Egg(s)

You need to add a pinch of salt, sugar, tablespoon of oil, and a pinch of baking soda to the mix. Add buttermilk if you want buttermilk pancakes.

I generally use whole wheat flour plus buckwheat flour to make it healthy in lieu of regular white flour.

That's probably because ibuprofen is a pharmacy drug here. You need to go to a pharmacy or one of the Watson's/Mannings with a pharmacy counter in order to get it. You will probably then have the choice of Advil Nurofen or generic. Since they're all chemically identical I go for the generic - cheapest I've found is the small pharmacy just west of Southorn Playground on the south side of Hennessy Road in Wanchai. $25 for 20 x 400mg of generic.

"Sarsae" is root beer or very similar to it, it comes in a brown can. I've seen it in 7-11 & PnS.

Codiene is OTC here from the pharmacies, why not go for a real pain killer which works well in small doses versus having to take massive doses of a chemical which mimics the effects of opiate based pain killers but at the same time has been attributed to renal failure?

Im talking about Ibuprofen and its derivatives which has been shown in studies to cause renal failure.

Sarsae is not root beer. Comparing Sarsea to root beer, would be like comparing wonton noodles to spaghetti.

20 year old reports that ibuprofen can make kidney problems worse in people who already have chronic kidney problems? One of which relates to a single case only? You'll need to try a bit harder with your scaremongering than that! But on a tit-for-tat basis:

Common effects other than analgesia associated with the use of codeine include euphoria, itching, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, miosis, orthostatic hypotension, urinary retention, depression and constipation.[4] Some people may also have an allergic reaction to codeine, such as the swelling of skin and rashes.[5] Erectile dysfunction and diminished libido can be a longer-term effect (years to decades) of many narcotic analgesics due to development of central hypogonadism; this appears to be especially common in individuals with significant melanin deficiencies, as the hormones tied to melanin production affect the absorption and conversion of these analgesics into progesterone. [6] Additionally, the haplotypes of about 48% of the indigenous population of Great Britain aggravate the condition, as the E647 sequence underwent epigenetic degradation and became a pseudogene. The chance of vulnerability is doubled for males, as the critical sequence is located on the X chromosome.[7]

Codeine and morphine as well as opium were used for control of diabetes until relatively recently, and still in rare cases in some countries, and the hypoglycaemic effect of codeine, although usually weaker than that of morphine, diamorphine, or hydromorphone, can lead to cravings for sugar.

I find it's similar to the root beer I had in UK, maybe the US have a different taste to the version I'm used to but i would call it root beer flavour wise.

Yeah, I've tried sarsae before. Sarsae claims or targets a similiar market to Root Beer, but it just dosen't have that classic taste of Root Beer.
