Yes besides $$$$$ Is never enough.... so what a person deemed sufficient maynot be enough for another...
Oh btw is there a thread on lame HKG Human Resource personnels who do not deserve to be where they are ?
I need a listening ear....
really depends on what lifestyle you want to lead.
i'm single, late 20s (damn can't believe that, am getting old) and living comfortably in hk. i do earn a bit more than $50k a month (and would like to get more, but who wouldn't!)
Like everyone says you can have a good life, but you won't be going out every night eating in Soho and drinking in LKF and travelling round asia in business class.
Well, thats really true... I had a better and rather luxurious life back in Taiwan .... drivers , good accomodation in town, wine and dine every other night...
But here - its a far cry .... like .... well like its mentioned depends on the life style that you want and how you go about managing your finances...
i'd say you would have an excellent time here on 50k! you could have an excellent time here on 10-30k with the right attitude (and staying away from LKF!), HK is the perfect place to "downshift" if you fancy a career change, learn some new skills and experience on a salary which would see you quite hard up back in the UK or US!
the only thing about earning less than around $20 is you have to cut back on travel.
Travel has many catagories as well...a holiday in Italy and a Holiday in Mumbai.... Thats totally different... than again still there is a saying :" The more you earn, the more you spend"
Its simply relative...
