i am sure a hotel can store more clothes than a hostel... and how can a villa cost so cheap? hotels on nathan road already quoted me 55K a month, unless you are talking about a studio in the villa???

the helper is cheaper than the car road tax lol

Btw, if i just considered maybe a very old z3 which has a rather attractive price, will the running cost go down a lot?
A villa in the NT, near the Uni should be around 50k/month, if you and your roomates can stretch it a little more than 75K will get you something real nice.

yeah helpers are cheap so do not hesitate, actually for that price you might be tempted to get two, if you are 3 ppl sharing the villa.

I drive a BMW but only on weekends - I have a driver that picks me at home otherwise on work days.

You will love HK and indeed it's a great place for later suppers..the city dun sleep!

by the way, plenty of Z3 on the market, should be easy to find.

depending on your budget, there is a big market for Porsche in HK too..can be as cheap as 200K or slightly below for an early 90ies model...it's a bargain.

    Z3, Hairdressers car though!

I think Spolit Brat should just get himself in a serviced apartment for the 4 months, It'll have maid service and scrap the car option and just get taxi's everywhere.

disagree. I think a car is a necessity for any kid going to uni. in 21 Jump Street, Johnny depp was driving on many campuses.

    it's common sense.

I think this kid just lives in a different world. There are many of us who have lived in sg as well. We know the restrictions and varied cultures overseas as well. Most of us live in a normal world. We suck it up while in uni, work hard to better our lives and then buy a car. Unless you or dear papa can buy the fairlady outright, try not to consider a car loan for that purpose as you would not qualify on a student visa. Sometimes the best experiences in life are from the most humbling moments. Enjoy it.

my father said he is worried that a car that old might have reliability issues, i think nissan seems more reliable in the long run...

What is a hairdressers car? I think a hotel costs the same and has better living condition than a serviced apartment though.

it depends. i am not really getting a car to go to uni, its more likely used to explore the entire hk or for late night supper.

i am buying a second hand car, so no loans anyway. i have a busy life back home and this student exchange is more like a vacation away from the stressful work life. others might drive to a place to do some things, but for me driving is that thing! i drive for leisure.

so back to topic, anyone knows of a better hotel that is below 14k per month? the hotel need not be in the city, in fact, i do not mind anywhere, cause i will be driving, but if its on an island, maybe not...

Not sure that HK student dorms are very clean from what I have heard from our staff.

Not sure of the quality of cheap accommodation in terms of hygiene and clean though.

The key questions are the student's budget and length of stay due to lease requirements of landlords.
