    Power Converter

I've looked through a few threads hoping to find a specific shop that sells converters, but no luck. My son's home sick, thought I'd try and pop out to get the long needed converter for our US-bought Wii, cheer him up. So should I just go to the Wanchai computer center? Is that the best bet near Central/Mid-levels?

Causeway Bay Windsor House / Wanchai Computer Center.

Wanchai Computer Center - First floor left hand ... side has a games console shop who might be able to sell you a WII specific 220 supply.

I bought a HK-use 220v power adaptor for my U.S. wii power at Mongkok's computer center for $100 hkd... it's great, plugs right into your Wii and into the wall socket, it's basically built for the Wii so you can just store your U.S. power for future when you move back :-) hope he feels better!

Are these 220V power supply for Wii custom-made by HK stores? Are they safe? I don't want to melt my wii.

    You can get
    a) 220v to 110v step down power transformer to work along your existing Wii power supply. Should be ~HK$100 from Wanchai computer center, or,
    b) get a universal power supply for Wii, commonly available from shops in Oriental 188 Shopping Center, #188 Wan Chai Road, Wan Chai. Also available on yahoo HK auction site - http://hk.f1.page.auctions.yahoo.com...ion/1114633597
    Price: HK$45

Just a universal/no name DC12v switching power supply with wii plug / 100-240v/ the same one as those online shops & ebay

So far, no news burned down house/ destory wii
Basic safety measure for a switching power supply: overload output voltage/ fuse included

    Safer option:
Chop the wii plug wire & rewire to a decent power supply (LCD power supply: 12v 4A)/Computer PSU

Where can I get a universal power converter so I can use my Canadian/US electronics that only use 110?

    (*not for a wii*)
