Sorry, i have no direct experience with the hotel industry but just to let you know HK has all the international chains - Conrad/Hilton, Marriott, W, Four Seasons, Ritz, Holiday Inn. Suggest you apply to the US offices of these chains as most offer training apprenticeships all over the world, and you can ask about HK. The advice about the private clubs is a good one.

You should also consider Macau. Tons of hotels sprouting up - go apply to the casinos - Wynn, Venetian, MGM, etc. They are looking for staff that Macau residents cannot fill most of the jobs. Macau is short ferry ride from HK and their hotel industry is probably hotter.

would there perhaps be websites for these clubs? Or should i just do a search engine and find it that way?

OP would likely have to accept local terms to get his foot in the door. If he accepts local terms then his language skills will make him more marketable.

OP, You need to carefully check the requirements of the HKID because there was some sort of cutoff date for ABC's like us. I was able to get my HKID, but my cousin was not, even though we are in the same circumstance. Both parents, US citizens, HK born, etc. Only difference is he is a few years younger than I. I never really asked him, but you should carefully fill out the forms and get all the documents ready before applying.
