i look at over 20 apartments some of them are old, small, smell bad... and those are in the new building (year 2000 + ) so prepare for a small space

I have also been offered a post in HK. Also with a publisher. Also on 45K per month. And I am also looking for a 2b place. (am also a manc, but that is a different matter).

Sorry to hijack the thread but would also be interested in the replies.

I recommend you check out Lamma Island. Many expats live there, it is an artsy group, cheap housing, and easy 30 minute commute to Central. Go Lamma!

a good apt with sea view in downtown is really not a problem with this budget
I have seen some decent places in Causeway Bay (I need a park nearby) at USD 3'500 a month and great places at USD 5'000
