Small move to beijing - best way?

Need some advice - we don't have too much stuff, probably three boxes and three suitcases worth, to move. What is the best and economical way to move our things to Beijing? A moving company probably doesn't make a lot of sense. Does the train station in HK accept shipment of goods to Beijing? I know the train stations in the mainland do.

    Thanks much!

In 2003 I moved from HKG back to PEK for approx. 6 months ...

After pricing every possible way to get my 2 suitcases and 2 boxes - it worked out cheaper that I buy a business class ticket from HKG to PEK(I flew China Air) - as the extra allowance given the Bclass meant that I only had to pay an additional US80 dollars in extra weight had I flown economy class I would have spent a lot more (sorry cannot recall the number) -

which also meant I would not have to make a trip to the PEK train station or airport (if shipped cargo) to pick up; this meant that my things where with me at all times.

There was no significant difference from travel/extra baggage insurance from freight/cargo insurance.

... then SARS took PEK by storm and I came back to HKG the same way!
