    Shipping Furniture

Hi. I am looking to ship furniture (as well as other belongings) from Hong Kong back to the United Kingdom as part of a house move (although the principle is the same vice versa I guess).
I have seen a service at Sevenseas.com for your own private shipping container to be ordered and transported. However, I am curious to know what experiences everyone else has had shipping larger items such as tables, beds and sofas (some can dismantled by others with long pieces) and if there are any recommendations on the companies or services otherwise that could be used to support this move.
    Any suggestions welcome.
    many thanks
    Dave

I wouldnt go down this route myself. By the time you have paid for packing materials and any labour for helping load there would not be too much difference for a professional company to do it regarding price let alone the stress you will have etc. Also you will find it hard for any insurance company to insure PBO boxes.
Then again if you have done this before and dont mind having it not insured and putting in a lot of work then let us know how it goes.

If you want to select a reliable removal company then you cant go wrong with looking up the companies that are members of FIDI.
This link will show the FIDI accredited companies in HK.
