I think that area is referring to Discovery Bay. And it means people who have given up on Hong Kong life...no?

I'd have assumed it's more a dig at Mui Wo. If it was DB then reference to a baby factory would have made more sense.

    Yeah, you are probably right.

Wow, we're already on the third page!

Well along with just living, I'm having a major research into each area. Therefore I asked so many questions and mentioned so many neighbourhoods. Would be helpful if I can get some information.

I will be unemployed there for some time before starting to work, so I don't mind where to live. I enjoy both city life and country life.

Its a lot of questions for a lot of areas. Why not do what everyone else does and do your own research and get over here and spend time in a serviced apartment rather then ask a books worth of info from an expat forum.

I think what people are trying to say, in the nicest possible Geoexpat way, is that you have asked for too much in one go.

Narrow it down, and preferably make one of your choices Gold Coast* and we can have a proper old Geoexpat argument.....err I mean discussion of the pros and cons of your choices.

*this is a sarcastic comment in no way meant to infer that Gold Coast is a good, or bad choice. I have no comment to make on the subject of Gold Coast, forget I mentioned it.

Before you go!! tai kok tsui expat area??? I have lived there i liked it but wouldnt call it an expat area. In fact its classfied as one of the lowest class highest crime areas of hong kong. Now we all know that being said the crime is still very low.
