It's a very valid point. If the OP's boyfriend wants to stray, he can do it anywhere but in HK the "opportunities" are everywhere and it seems to be quite acceptable. Some of the "temptations" WC refers to can also be VERY persistent. I've been shocked to see just how "determined" (and upfront) many of the local ladies are.

You can work in a temporary job for up to 12 months.

This might also give you time to become licensed, take the exams, as an estate agent if you want to take that route.
Definitely take Claire's advice on this. You can at least work while looking for a job that will sponsor you a visa. Plenty of young people here and it is easy to make new friends.

Then she would have made the right decision, ie she would know that he wasnt the right one.

Seriously guys, seems you all lost any sens of "adventure" (we are talking about HK, not Islamabad...)

What if she dumps him when she gets here and meets some of the guys desperate for a Western woman?

Oh, that's right, OP is a woman, she's not taken in by vacuous, gold-digging flattery like some members of the other gender. And if her other half is the type to give into the panty-flashing tarts around the place, then she is well rid of him.

God you spout some shit sometimes WC, but that has to be right up there.

OP has nothing to lose, everything to gain. she has no kids, no mortgage. Get on the plane and see what happens OP.

I have to admit, I have succumbed to temptations here in HK. I was again in Sim city, Mong Kok last night spending money on stuff I don't need.

Oh, OP, Welcome to the world of Geo.

    Again, what is the issue?

On the contrary from what you are saying HK exposes more the men "flaws" apparently.

    Good.

If he doesnt stray, then the OP will know he might really be the real deal.

Guys, life has to be a bit interesting...at 24 and unless you are top notch (ie renowned scientis, famous pianist, singer, athlete or already a star trader on wall street) you bascially know shit :-)

    Explore OP, explore.

Hehehe. I think you took my post too seriously.... Your response revealed alot more about you than me there...

P.S-Are there really that many panty-flashing tarts in HK? Better not tell my wife about this, hahaha.
