If the police wont do anything, CC definitely wont.

If it was me, I'd pay to get my stuff out and then take them to small claims court with "I agreed under duress" and try to get the money back.

If you are going to do as I suggest (pay under duress), word your emails to them carefully. If you have a lawyer friend, they can help craft it. If you dont have a lawyer friend, here is my 2c, I'm not a lawyer:
- I dont really want to agree, but you are leaving me no choice
- You are holding my goods hostage until I pay you
- I'm only agreeing under duress as I need my stuff immediately

Yes that would do it Howard, but realistically OP won't go to the small claims court to get her 4k back.

I don't know why but this has struck a chord with me. It's exploiting people at their most vulnerable. I don't know what I'd do if it happened to me. I'd probably pay it and when he turned up, knock his two front teeth out.

I'm sorry i don't understand what you mean. But i'll share details wih anyone thru PM so they can take caution. (since admin wont' let me name) I still don't know how to upload document or photo yet. i'll figure that out after CC tomorrow. i have a lot to prepare & print out.. very stressful

I've found the two moving companies we'd used in Hong Kong to be very professional. Did the op sneak in a grand piano and an elephant after the quotes were given? How did you find these movers and how many companies did you get quotes from?

Right now I don't have much choice but to pay what they ask. If i use new movers, "his friend"'s storage will be charging me a fortune, $3.50/foot he said.(storage is supposed to be included in the original deal). Is that a normal charge? He meant per cubic foot? mine is 1500cu.ft he claims. And to hire another mover will cost me that same amount he is charging. and this guys calculates that already. It comes down to- if i don't pay him,i have to pay his friend! u see?
The main problem is that we can't agree on is when to pay. He wants me to transfer money first before delivery!! How can i do that after what's happened. That's why i had to file police report & then go to CC. So someone can witness the deal atleast. I just hope i get my stuff before my kids come back.. just 2 days left. Sad to see what world the children will be facing.

yes i have quotation paper and many email correspondents but it has company name & names. Would admin let me post it? I cross it those out name first and take photo? post as attachment?
